In November 2019 a tiny, blind kitten, with rickety bent front legs, abandoned, calling for his Mom, was found by a kind woman. From there he quickly joined our home of three sweet dogs and four cats. We named him Klaus. We didn't know then that this tiny boy, of a few weeks old, had tick bite fever and that we would be on a journey with him to fight for his life for many months. He fought hard and he beat it and what shone throughout the whole journey was his joy for life and his adventurous spirit. This inspired us and from this inspiration Klaus Klay emerged.

What began then as a celebration of Klaus Mouse's spirit has now grown into a joyful ceramic brand that celebrates beloved animals, individuality, connection, and creativity.

Each piece is lovingly hand-sculpted and hand painted, always with a cat snoozing in a box nearby or quietly judging from the sidelines. At Klaus Klay we embrace the charm of irregular lines, subtle textures, and the authenticity of imperfection. No two pieces are the same — and that’s exactly how we like it.

Our intention behind every creation is simple: to spread joy and delight, the way animals do so naturally and unconditionally. Whether it's a tiny tilt of a clay ear or a hand-painted expression that makes you smile, we hope our pieces spark a moment of warmth and connection in your day.
